Tony Clementi, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Tony was born in Milwaukee, April 15, 1924, the son of the late Tom and Nunziata (Nee: Domiano) Clementi and was a longtime resident of Racine. Tony had been married to Mary Jane (Catrine) Clementi for 58 years until her death in 2007.
On October 2, 1948, at St. Rita Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane. Tony was employed by Western Publishing Co for 37 years, retiring in 1989 as Painting Supervisor. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, a member of Roma Lodge and was an avid bocce player. Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his four children, Thomas (Donna) Clementi of Appleton, Nanci (Blair) Shingledecker of Franklin, Nicholas (Kathy) Clementi of Minnesota, Tony (Peggy) Clementi, Appleton; 14 grandchildren, Mary and Laura Clementi, Adam (Kim) Shingledecker, Katrina (Ryan) Beeck, Karla (Tom) Vanden Boom, Cindy (Mark) Baleskie, Kristina, Lisa, and Gina Clementi, Kaitlyn Altman, Nathan, Kiernan, Brendan, and Ian Clementi; great-granddaughters, Emma Shingledecker, Isabella and Adriana Beeck; great-grandsons Ben Shingledecker and Ethan Vanden Boom; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Constance Mussomeli, Cecelia (Richard) Heck, Ann (James) Magestro, Terri (Lee) Nicholas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Carlo, and Joe Clementi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., with Reverend Allen Bratkowski officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. (Roma Lodge service at 6 p.m.) and Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
