Joan R. Marciniak, age 55, passed away unexpectedly due to complications of cancer on Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Dexter M. and Rita M. (Nee: Zeihen) DeFrang.
On May 8, 1976, at St. Mark’s Church in Kenosha she was united in marriage to Thomas Marciniak. Joan was employed in Delicatessen Management in various grocery stores for many years. She was an avid bowler in numerous leagues, and enjoyed going on casino trips. Above all she treasured time spent with family and friends, especially time with her granddaughter, Grace. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of thirty-three years, Thomas; her sons and daughters-in-law, Tim (Natalie) Marciniak of Kenosha, WI, Mike (Shelley) Marciniak of Green Bay, WI; her granddaughter, Grace; two brothers, Mark DeFrang (Mary McCann) of Franksville, WI; Charles DeFrang (Sue Buck) of Madison, WI; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue, Kenosha, on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 6 p.m. with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Interment will be held on Thursday at the St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, at 11 a.m. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
Joan’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and the entire staff at Aurora Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
