Shirley E. (Schmidt) Dersien

Shirley E. Dersien, age 73, died peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Sunday, February 21, 2010. Shirley was born in Racine, WI, on November 27, 1936, daughter of the late Frank and Emma F. (Nee: Holtz) Schmidt.

She is survived by her children, Amy Kohler, Josie Dersien, Bryan Dersien and Peggy Dersien; six grandchildren; sisters, Anita Day, Violette Gorham and Betty Schmidt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Private funeral services were held with interment at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Shirley’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center for the amazing work, compassion and thoughtfulness that was shown to Shirley over the last thirty-five years. Shirley and her family considered the caregivers their extended family.
