Elmer A. Anderson

Elmer A. Anderson, age 90, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Elmer was born in Knox, North Dakota, on November 7, 1919, son of the late Elmer A. and Florence M. Anderson.

During World War II, Elmer served in the United States Army Air Corps Seventeenth Bomb Group. On January 12, 1946, he was united in marriage to Ann M. Graceffa who preceded him in death, May 29, 1999.

Elmer was employed by Twin Disc for twenty-three years, retiring in 1984. His previous employment included Massey-Harris and Osters Manufacturing. He was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church. Elmer was also a life member of VF Post 1391 and their Firing Squad. In his earlier years, he excelled in high school football. His pastimes included golfing and fishing. More than anything, he loved being with family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bill (Charlene) Anderson; grandsons, Bill Jr. and Warren Anderson; sister, Florence Anderson, all of Racine; brother-in-law, Eric Newman of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Eileen Anderson-Bolton of Chicago, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sisters, Violet Newman, Marie (Earl) Venne; brother, William Anderson and his daughter, Billie Severign.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Free Church, 2401 Ohio St. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to the First Evangelical Free Church Building Fund have been suggested.
