Surrounded by her loving family, Marian M. Cantele, age 75, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 13, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Racine, May 12, 1934, daughter of the late Homer and Eva (Nee: Gille) Sullivan.
Marian graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1952.” On November 27, 1958, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Eugene J. Cantele. For the past 30 years, Marian was a real estate broker and pursued her passion for antiques and collectibles through her estate sale business. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Above all, Marian was about family, friends and laughter. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Gene; children, Jeanine (Rick) Wellinghoff of Indianapolis, IN, John (Sue) Cantele of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Alex and Claire Wellinghoff, Anthony and Jack Cantele. Brothers and sister include Ken Sullivan, Joyce (Butch) Spanjers, Frank (Angie) Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Mary Sullivan, Bernice Sullivan, Jean Sullivan and Ernestina Cantele; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her son, Mark; and brothers, Orville, Harold (Bud), Paul and Bill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Reverend Don Zerkel officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday at the church 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.
