Aline Elder, age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Aline was born on July 27, 1925, in New Albany, Mississippi, daughter of the late Jerry and Deiah (Nee: King) Sanders.
Aline was united in marriage to Owen W. Elder, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2009. She was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital for nineteen years and was a member of New Omega Baptist Church. Survivors include many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Canon; four sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Fred L. Richmond Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
