Veronica M. (Goetz) Rude

Surrounded by her loving family, Veronica M. Rude, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014, at her residence. Veronica was born in Racine on March 26, 1927, daughter of the late Albert and Veronica (Nee: Matt) Goetz.

On February 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Douglas F. Rude, who preceded her in death on July 24, 2001. Veronica proudly worked at Houmann’s Fish Market for thirty-three years. She was an avid bingo player. More than anything, she cherished time with her family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her sons, Curt (Laura) Rude, Scott (Denise) Rude, Michael Rude (Stephen Hawk); her grandchildren, Meghan (Jim Edmonson), Cullen Rude, Casey Rude, Connor Rude (fiancée, Alicia Leber), Katie (Jaren) Christianson, Kristie Brandt, Heather (Kelly) Graham, Daniel (Michelle) Vermey, Allison Rude, Christopher Hawk, Ryan Hawk; six great-grandchildren, Corey, Ayden, Brody, Dylan, Emma and JJ; sister, Vivian Rognsvoog; sisters-in-law, Carol Rude and Beatrice (Douglas) Shue; nieces, nephews, other relatives, many dear friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore; and sister, Dorothy Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon.
