She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Choir, and was a Eucharist Minister and mass preparation volunteer for many years at St. Richard’s. She also volunteered at the Marian Center for many years. Ethel was an unassuming, charitable Christian who was an ongoing supporter of her parish, charitable and military veterans organizations.

Her hobbies and interests included family, golfing, bowling, baking and playing bridge every Saturday night with her dear friends. She was an active member of the Washington Park Golf League for many years, trying to get nine holes in during the summer every evening after work.

Surviving are her nephews and nieces , Robert T. (Karen) Kohlman, Patricia M. (John) Mand, William D. Kohlman, all of Racine, Thomas G. Kasvin of Cincinnati, Ohio; Richard H. (Alexis) Kasvin of Chicago, IL; Christopher Kasvin of Lakewood, CO; Mary Kasvin of Arvada, CO; and a great-nephew and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Ave., with Rev. Ron Gramza officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
