Sylvia D. (Dworin) Schwartz

Sylvia D. Schwartz, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Chicago, IL, on January 4, 1924, daughter of the late Morris and Ida (Nee: Minker) Dworin.

In January of 1955 she was united in marriage to Arthur Schwartz, who passed away June 12, 1970. Sylvia was a member of Beth Israel Sinai Congregation, Sisterhood and Hadassah.

Surviving are her son, James (Lucia Ramirez) Schwartz of Mountain View, CA; her daughter, Amy Schwartz (Diane Murphy) of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Orianna and Ari; sisters-in-law, Irene Dworin Rosenfield, of Dallas, TX, Jeanne Savin of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys; and brothers, Jack and Bernard.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 25, 2011, at noon at Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery with Rabbi Martyn Adelberg officiating. Memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Simon Wiesenthal Center have been suggested.
