Melissa Rose Corona

Melissa Rose Corona, age 24, left this world on Thursday, September, 22, 2011, due to a motorcycle accident. Melissa was born in Racine September 2, 1987, daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth (nee: Modrow) Corona.

Melissa attended Park High School and was in her third year of college at UW-Parkside with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She also had been working at the Chancery Restaurant for the past four years. Melissa’s life was devoted to her three-year-old son Hunter, who was her world. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister and dear friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Hunter Clarke Harris-Corona; her mother, Elizabeth Corona; father, Gilbert Corona; siblings, Jessica (Greg) Brooks, David Corona, Jessica D. Corona, Gilbert Corona Jr.; niece and nephew, Jaidyn and Maddux Brooks; her boyfriend and Hunter’s father, Jared Harris; grandmother, Gloria Corona; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. Melissa was preceded in death by her brother, Nicholas, on September 21, 2003.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday September 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.. Memorials to the family or to the Hunter Harris-Corona Trust Fund c/o Educator’s Credit Union have been suggested.
