Dorothy M. (Heidenreich) Feranchek

Surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy M. Feranchek, age 85, passed away on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Racine on August 26, 1926, daughter of the late Anthony P. and Viola C. (Nee: Klapproth) Heidenreich.

On January 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to George “Youtch” Feranchek, who preceded her in death in 1991. Dorothy was employed as an accountant by Gordon J. Maier Company for many years and retired at the age of 75. She was a lifelong member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. An avid Cubs and Packers fan, Dorothy also loved cards – cribbage and poker. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Dan) Vassh of Wild Rose, WI, Gerald “Jerry” (Missy) Feranchek of Suring, WI, Tony (Gina) Feranchek of Ocala, FL,; her grandchildren, Frank (Kim) Cacciotti, Antoinette (Jason) Rich, Amanda (Dustin) Gorsiski, Anthony Feranchek; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Adrianna, Kirsten, Natalya and Issis; sister, Delores Craft of Racine; sister-in-law, Anne Heidenreich of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Gerald Feranchek Jr.; brother, Gerald “Jerry” Heidenreich; sister, Viola “Dolly” Schuppe; and brothers-in-law, Hank Schuppe and George Craft.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. (Prayer service at 7 p.m.) and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials in her memory have been suggested to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.

A very special thank you to all her caregivers, especially the Dialysis Unit for their loving and compassionate care these past five years.
