Josephine A. (Ruffalo) Twist

Surrounded by her loving family, Josephine A. Twist, age 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at her home. She was born in Wautoma, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Sands and Theresa (Nee: Infusino) Ruffalo of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy.

On September 28, 1946, at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Oliver F. Twist, who preceded her in death on June 2, 2000. Jo was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and the Vittoria Colonna of Roma Lodge. She enjoyed her log cabin in Brodhead, WI, traveling, gardening, Brewers games, family gatherings, sharing Italian traditions with her family, and rescuing treasures from rummage sales and playing bocce. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mom’s smile and energy will be dearly missed by all.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Carol) Twist, Joe (Cindy) Twist; Luann (Tim) Kratowicz, six grandchildren, Rachel Twist and Renee Andreoli, Jayne (Jeffery) Erickson and Andy Twist, Kevin and Therese Kratowicz; two great-grandchildren, Ty and Talia Andreoli; brothers and sisters, Bill (Rose) Ruffalo, Rose Biagioni of Berkeley, IL. Mamie DeLuca of Whittier, CA., Emil (Julie) Ruffalo, of Racine; many other nieces, nephews relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Carmella Ruffalo, Carmella Liddi, Charles, James, Sands, George, Louis, Frank, Irene Ruffalo, Irene Krepelan, Mary Copen, Susan Blomquist.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Reverend Don Zerkel officiating . Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. when the Ladies of Vittoria Colonna will have a prayer service. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or one’s favorite charity have been suggested.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of Seasons Hospice for their comforting care and support.
