Marion A. (Simanek) Janzer

Marion A. Janzer, age 93, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at her residence. Marion was born in Racine, November 30, 1918, daughter of the late Wencil and Anna (Nee: Hamata) Simanek and was a lifelong Racine resident.

She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School and Marquette University. Marion was an active and charter member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. She was united in marriage to Stanley George Janzer on November 22, 1945. He preceded her in death, September 9, 1983. For many years, she was actively involved with the St. John Nepomuk Home and School Association, Women’s Civic Council and Milwaukee Area PTA. She devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, David Janzer of Waukesha, Terry (Yvonne) Janzer of Holland, MI, Charles Janzer of Racine; her two grandchildren, Christopher (Miranda) Janzer, Karen (Jared) Feddersen; sisters-in-law, Gwen Simanek of Racine, Anita Janzer, Mary Sampica and Celia Sawicki, all of Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, John Robert, George and Charles Simanek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or to Hospice Alliance Inc. have been suggested.
