Jack L. Eyman

Surrounded by his loving family, Jack L. Eyman, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at his residence.   Jack was born in Logansport, IN, on April 29, 1941, son of the late Jack and Odetta (Nee:  Brenner) Eyman. He grew up in Peru, IN, and moved to Racine while he was in his early twenties.

On March 4, 1976, Jack was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Anne Gutzman. Jack was first employed with Modine Mfg. and later with JI Case Co. for twenty-three years until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, the German Club DMV, and Racine Moose Lodge #437, where he bowled in their couple’s league for 33 years. An avid sportsman and sports fan, Jack was involved with many other bowling leagues, golf leagues (JI Case and Old Duffers), pool leagues, baseball and softball leagues, and Kankakee bowling. He was a great fan of “left turn NASCAR nation” and driver #24. Jack also loved to get away up north and was a charter member of the Long Lake Lager Leakers. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Barbara; his son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Jeanie) Eyman of Racine; his pride and joy – his grandchildren, Erin and Alex; brother, William (Mary Ann) Eyman of Cameron; Sandy (Bob) Burton of Kokomo, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Gutzman, Lorraine (Todd) Braun, Rita (Steve) Nelson; nieces and nephews, Candace Gruhn, BJ Eyman, Chris Burton, Sheri Nelson, Cori, Heidi, Katie, Courtney, Ryan, Nicole, Daniel, Stevie, Matthew, and their families; other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patricia Bequeaith.

Per Jack’s wishes, all are welcome to visit and celebrate his life at the North Star banquet Hall (behind Roundabout Bar) 5844 Douglas Ave., Racine 53402, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. John Martini and nurse Sue for all of their loving and compassionate care.
