Shirley M. Hilgers

Shirley M. Hilgers, age 85, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Shirley was born in Racine on October 7, 1928, daughter of the late Gustave and Ada (Nee: Anderson) Erickson.

On February 14, 1953, at Holy Name Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Donald E. Hilgers. Shirley was employed at American Bank for five years, Massey Ferguson for five years, and lastly at M & I Bank for ten years. She was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, United Commercial Travelers, and Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her sisters, Violet Coleman of Racine, Joy (Milton) Lee of Delavan, WI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Erickson of Mauston, Marjorie Erickson of New Whiteland, IN; many nieces, and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Robert Erickson, Harold Erickson, Ruth (Melvin) Nass, Norma (Clarence) Posthuma, Edith (William) Suys, Beverly (Alan) Ainsworth; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Coleman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014, at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon.
