Thomas 'Tom' Lee Wensing

Thomas Lee Wensing, "Tom," age 50, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his home of natural causes. Tom was born in Racine on April 1, 1964, son of Frederick L. and Rosemary T. (Nee: Mianecki) Wensing Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Racine and a graduate of J.I. Case High School "Class of 1983."

Tom was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. During his youth, Tom was a newspaper carrier and later on worked various jobs which included Machine Shop, Security and Maintenance. Tom enjoyed video games, reading Stephen King novels, loved his cellphone and hanging out with friends and family. Tom had a giving and generous heart and always welcomed family and friends to his home with a huge smile. Tom survived a childhood accident which left him physically challenged. With the support of the medical staff, family and friends and the religious community Tom recovered to live a fulfilling life.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Frederick and Rosemary Wensing; his sisters and brothers, Marcia Wensing (Joe Reeves), Annemarie (John) Meier, Fred (Kelly Jensen) Wensing, Sarah Wensing (Lori DeHart), Michael (Cheryl McDonald) Wensing; nephews and nieces, Andrew Wensing, Devon Wensing, Lyndsey Wensing, Benjamin Wensing, Sydney Meier; Uncles and Aunts, Julius (Grace) Mianecki, Patricia (James) Shea, Alice Mianecki; special friend, Colleen Trentadue; other relatives and many dear friends.

Tom was preceded in death by many loving family members. He will be dearly missed and our family takes great solace in knowing that he will be wrapped in God's loving arms.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 6 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave., with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. To celebrate Tom's life, relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 6 p.m. Private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Richard Catholic Church or to one's favorite charity have been suggested.
