Charles 'Chuck' E. Krause

Charles “Chuck” E. Krause, age 76, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Chuck was born in Racine, March 7, 1934, son of the late Harold and Florence (Nee: Millstead) Krause and was a lifetime resident of Racine.

Chuck attended Trinity Lutheran and Racine Lutheran High School. He joined the Navy, and proudly served from 1952-1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of “40 et 8,” and the American Legion. Being a longtime member of the Harbor Lite Yacht Club, Chuck enjoyed boating and partying at the club. In recent years he spent his winters in Florida. Chuck was employed by Rite Engineering, and later was self-employed as a co-owner and operator of C & S Manufacturing, retiring in 1999.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughters, Elizabeth (Ray) Rigney, Karen (Dave) Miller, Ruth (Royce) Wilson, all of Florida; son, Scott Krause of Racine; grandchildren, Colt Krause, Genevieve Krause, Samantha Beadle, twins Carroll and Korrie Parks, Charles Krause III; five great-grandchildren; former wife and mother of his children, Carroll Krause; niece; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Krause Jr.; grandson, Dalton Krause; and his sister, Betty Hostick.

In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private services will be held in Florida at a later date. Memorials to the VFW Post 1391 have been suggested by the family.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Wheaton Franciscan and Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
