George J. Jensen

George J. Jensen, age 84, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home, Town of Dover. George was born in Racine, July 23, 1926, son of the late George J. and Mable (Nee: Sannes) Jensen.

On April 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Donna Gamlin. During World War II, from 1944-1946, George proudly served as a corporal in the United States Army 78th Infantry Division. He was employed as an electrician at Jacobson Manufacturing for forty years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; his brothers, Leonard Jensen, William (Mary Ann) Jensen; sister, Alice Pedersen; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce Jensen, Marge Jensen, Yvonne Jensen, Sally (Dennis) Grall; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey, Robert and Howard Jensen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Jensen, Ginny Jensen, Cathy (Joe) Carpino, Ralph (Rita) Mazzie, Myron “Bud” Gamlin, and Kenny Pedersen.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, November 12, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Rev. William J. Dietzler officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the Parkinson’s Foundation have been suggested.

George’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers at Boland Hall, especially Kathy Moen and Anita Schumacher for their loving and compassionate care.
