David J. Pietsch

David J. Pietsch, age 64, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Kindred Hospital, Greenfield, WI. David was born in Racine on February 17, 1946, son of the late Joseph and Sylvia (Nee: Gray) Pietsch.

During the Vietnam War David proudly served in the United States Air Force. On June 11, 1977, he was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Rasmussen-Taleck at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. David was employed by SC Johnson Wax for twenty-six years until his retirement and was a member of the “20 Year Club.” David was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed playing cards and bowling in his younger years. More than anything, David loved spending time with his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Carolyn; his children, Todd (Julie) Taleck, Scott (Diane) Taleck, Shawn (Troy) Madore, Dawne (Michael) Robbins; his six grandchildren, Olivia Taleck, Samantha and Megan Taleck, Amanda Madore, Katelyn and Michael Robbins; brothers, Joe (Debbie) Pietsch, Dan (Liz) Pietsch, Roger (Antenelle) Pietsch, Jim Pietsch; sisters, Mary (Guy) Graham, Patty (Heidi) Pietsch; sister-in-law, Barbara (Ron) Andersen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Pietsch Jr.; two grandsons, Justin Madore, Ethan Taleck; and two brothers, Richard and Ron.

A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave., with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

David’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all of his caregivers, friends and family for their help and prayers.
