Erna (Hein) Waitt

Erna Waitt, age 89, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Erna was born in Halzburg, Germany, December 5, 1921, daughter of the late John and Amalia (Nee: Burchart) Hein.

On July 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Claude B. Waitt, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2000. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. An excellent cook, Erna also enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and bowling. More than anything she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Michael Waitt of Sturtevant, WI, Patricia (Christopher) Horlock of Riviera, TX; her three grandchildren, Allison, Allan and Amalia; her great-grandson, James; sister Hattie Davis of Oak Creek, WI; In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister and brothers-in-law, Mary (Charles) Stratman, Loren Davis and Anne (Floyd) Larson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa St., with Rev. John Roekle officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
