Richard A. Sorensen, “Rich,” age 59, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 4, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Racine October 30, 1951, son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Nee: Scheurmann) Sorensen.
Rich graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1970.” He was employed by Massey-Ferguson for 22 years, last working at APL Logistics. Rich enjoyed biking and gardening. He was an avid Packer fan. Recently his interest in becoming computer savvy had brought him the joy of reconnecting with old friends. Rich was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Deana and David Gervais of Milwaukee; his granddaughter, Tessa; siblings, Kathleen Schulz of Janesville, Diane Sorensen and husband Dan Stier of Madison, Ed (Laura) Sorensen of Madison, Teresa Sorensen of St. Paul, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday February 8, 2011, at 6 p.m. with Reverend Jeffrey Thielen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of service.
