Mary L. (Smith) Moore

Mary L. Moore, age 79, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. Mary was born in Rockford, IL, on January 19, 1932, daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma (Nee: Reddy) Smith.

Mary was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in Marketing. In May of 1952 she was united in marriage to Jesse A. Moore, who preceded her in death in 1955. Mary was employed for twenty years by Western Publishing and for ten years by Olan Mills. She was actively involved at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and working with the Adult Fellowship and Bible Study Groups. Her pastimes included gardening, reading and crossword puzzles. Mary will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Alan Moore (Cindy Edwards) of Sturtevant, Albert (Annamaria) Moore of Racine; six grandchildren, Eric (Greta) Moore, Craig Moore, Tanya Moore (Zach Masella), Jose Moore, Jason Moore, Justin Moore; her great-grandson, Finnigan; sister, Gloria Peterson; niece and nephews, Genette (John) Biggs, Gordon (Karen) Peterson, Gary Peterson; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dear brother-in-law, Gordy Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 14, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m.
