Alice (Hutchens) Hansen

Mrs. Alice (nee: Hutchens) Hansen, 92, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010, at W.F.H.-All Saints Hospice.

Alice was born on September 11, 1917, to the late Elmer and Selma (nee: Lundberg) Hutchens in Athelstane and lived in Racine since 1946. She was united in marriage to Richard E. Hansen on June 19, 1941, in Honolulu, HI.

Mrs. Hansen graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1934 and Marinette County Normal School in 1935. Commencing in fall 1936, she taught at five different county schools in Marinette County. Alice enjoyed writing, corresponding and genealogy. She served as an organist at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Northside Calvary Memorial Church and Calvary Memorial Church, early service.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Richard E. Hansen; son, Randol Hansen; three daughters, Anita (Ted) Comfort, Elaine Hansen and Carolyn (Ross Arnold) Hansen; four grandchildren, Rick (TracyAnn) Hansen, Karin (Michael) Harman, Rebecca (Chad) Bederka and Paul (Signe) Comfort; and nine great-grandchildren, Troy, James, Joshua, Corey, Anna, Peter, Gabby, Pierce and Dean. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Roy, Lyle and Stanley Hutchens; a sister, Doris Kelsey; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Johnson) Hansen; and one son-in-law, Ronnie Douglas.

Funeral Services for Alice will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday May 6, 2010, at the funeral home with Rev. Nathan Joy James officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday May 5, 2010, from 4:30-7 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
