Arthur J. Conrad, age 88, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. Arthur was born in Audubon, Iowa, October 13, 1921, son of the late August and Marie (Nee: Jensen) Conrad.
During World War II for four years he served in the United States Coast Guard stationed in the South Pacific. On May 11, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Georgia A. Venetos. Arthur was employed by Oster Manufacturing and J. I. Case Company, and retired from Webster Electric in 1985. Arthur was a faithful member of AA for forty years. His pastimes included fishing and gardening. Above all he was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Georgia; his daughter, Karen Lictenwalner of Racine; brother, August Conrad Jr. of Iowa Falls, IA; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Helen) Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, Stanley (Cleo) Venetos of Neenah, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemarie Denmark; and brother, Thomas Conrad.
Private services and entombment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover.
