Willadean (Clark) Ayers

Willadean Ayers, “Billie,” age 100, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center.  She was born in Scranton, IA, May 15, 1909, daughter of Lee and Dora Clark. 

On February 14, 1924, in Dubuque, IA she was united in marriage to Joseph S. Ayers. Together they had seven children and moved to Racine in 1941.  Joe passed away in 1953.  Billie retired from Racine Hydraulics.  She enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent cook and baker.  She will be remembered for her fudge.  Above all she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.  She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Betty Goebel, Rose (Robert) Reilly, JoAnn Quinn, and John Ayers; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ayers; over 80 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; two daughters, Mary DuMont and Pat Boehme; four grandsons, Steve Quinn, Pat Goebel, Mike DuMont and Robert DuMont; a sister, Delores Reil; and a brother, Harry Clark.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday, May 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Mark Jones officiating.  Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet Monday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
