Gerald William Warner

Gerald William Warner, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove. Gerald was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on August 6, 1920, the son of William D. and Maud P. (nee: Miller) Warner.

He was a graduate of Washington Park High School. Gerald proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.  On July 8, 1944, Gerald was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Noe in the Parish House of St. Rose Church.  He was an engineer and had been employed with Mamco Corporation and Dremel Manufacturing. 

Gerald was a friend of True Life Church, a lifetime member of Boy Scout Troop 400 and a member of VFW Post 1391.

Gerald is survived by is his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughter, Jane M. (James) Aiello; son, John W. (Nancy) Warner all of Racine; seven grandchildren, Julie Boone (Gregory) of Racine, Jennifer (Scott) Melson of TN, Joseph (Blanca) Aiello of MN, Jonathan Aiello of Racine, Gina Garcia of FL, Carissa (Micah) Metzger and Jessica (Nicholas) Keene all of IN; four step-grandchildren, Kyle (Mandie) Andersen, Michael Andersen and Nathan (Melissa Bazan) Andersen all of Racine, and Nichole (Paul) Monskey of MN; six great-grandchildren; eight step- great-grandchildren; half-brother, Norman (Helen) Warner of Eagle River; sisters, Geraldine Kapluck of Racine, and Adeline Milne of IL.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his children, Susan Elizabeth and Scott David; his parents; brother, William; sister, Perditha Bartholomew; and brother-in-laws, Stanley and George.

Funeral services for Gerald will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday April 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Butler of True Life Church officiating. Gerald will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.

Memorials to Wisconsin Veterans Home 21245 G Spring St., Union Grove, WI  53182 or to True Life Ministries (Ladies Auxiliary), 9605 Spring St., Racine, WI 53406 have been suggested.

The Warner family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff of Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove for their fine care and compassion given to Gerald.
