Margaret J. (Caynak) Secanky

Margaret J. Secanky, age 92, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center.  Margaret was born in Racine, February 18, 1918, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Nee:  Dugas) Caynak. 

Margaret was a graduate of Washington Park High School.  On May 25, 1939, at Holy Name Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Albin J. Secanky who preceded her in death, June 30, 1998.  She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.  Margaret was a waitress at Ed Aiello’s Hub for many years.  She was an excellent Slovak cook and also enjoyed gardening and traveling.  Above all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Arthur) Hageman; her three grandchildren, Suzanne Hageman, Sonja (Don) Fornal, Sara (Brian) Pollmann; eight great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Florence (Frank) Bogyos, John (Majole) Caynak, George Caynak, Susie Halkowitz; other relatives and many dear friends. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Monica’s Chapel, 3920 N. Green Bay Road, with Rev. Richard J. Molter officiating.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at St. Monica’s Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.  Memorials to St. Monica’s Senior Citizen’s Home have been suggested.
