Louise (Winston) Watson

Louise Watson, age 76, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center.  Louise was born in Alamo, TN, February 15, 1934, daughter of the late William R. and Annette (Nee:  Wormack) Winston.


Louise confessed in Christ at an early age at Midgett Chapel Methodist Church in Alamo.   On June 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Cozell Watson, who preceded her in death, August 18, 2006.  Louise was a longtime member and Pastor's nurse at Greater St. Luke’s Baptist Church.  She was also a member and past chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary #546 and member of the Eastern Star #89.

Survivors include her three daughters, Linda Watson and Delois Watson, both of Racine, Deborah Watson of Alamo, TN; her grandchildren, Nakeia and Dartavian Watson, Natalie (Darius) Nunn, Qualow and Vernia Watson, Cadijah Watson and Nathan Barker; great-grandchildren, DaZahn Wikerson, Dartavian Watson Jr., Darion Watson, Diajah Watson, Meliyah Watson, Darius Nunn Jr.; sisters, Lillian (Winferd) Dickerson of Alamo, TN, Margaret Winston of Toledo, OH; brother, Julius Winston of Racine; brothers-in-law, Robert Watson of White Plains, NY, Charles (Marta) Watson of Battle Creek, MI; a host of other relatives and dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Terry L. Weeden; and two brothers, D.H. and Melvin Winston.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010, at noon at Greater St. Luke’s Baptist Church, 1326 State St., with Rev. Alex Bell officiating.  Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon.
