Martha Jane Danielson (Woods)

Mrs. Martha J. (nee: Durden) Danielson, 98, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Ridgewood Health Care Center.

Martha was born on November 20, 1912, to the late Lester and Blanche (nee: Walling) Durden in Minneapolis, MN. She was united in marriage to Ever Danielson on July 22, 1939 in Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1969.

Martha was employed as a cook for Park High School and Starbuck Middle School and later at Jacobson Manufacturing until her retirement in 1979.

Martha was best known as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to read, sew and cook; favorite family meals included her roasts, stews and pies. Above all, she was a strong, hardworking and dependable person who was able to overcome the many obstacles in her life and was loved by all who had the chance to know her.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Roland Woods, Karen Burmeister and Carolyn (Tom) Flemming; daughter-in law, Dolores Woods; 13 grandchildren, Lynn (Larry) Frontuto, Karen (Robert) Pullen, Nancy Tyron, Steve (Robin) Woods, Lori (Dr. Tom) Schuster, Jim (Kim) Woods, Tom (Sue) Woods, Patti (Jim) Cruz, Lynn (Chuck) Schweikl, Matt (Kerry) Burmeister, Pam (Fiancé Scott Bobinski) Olle, Elizabeth (Carlos Duarte) Hayward, and Tim (Dori) Hayward; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Charlotte Tullgren and Roy Woods; son-in-law, Gene Burmeister; daughter-in-law, LaVerne Woods; three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Martha will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 4 p.m. with Rev. Holly Anderle officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, December 13, 2010, at 10 a.m.
