Rosemary M. (Nagler) Klokow

Rosemary M. Klokow, age 88, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Rosemary was born in Beaver Dam, WI, on December 3, 1921, daughter of the late William and Martha (Nee: Glassman) Nagler.

She graduated from St. Peter’s Parochial School in 1936 and from Beaver Dam High School “Class of 1939.” On October 25, 1947, was united in marriage to Ruben Klokow. They shared thirty-one years together before they separated in 1978. In her younger years, Rosemary was employed as a teacher’s aide at Giese School, provided childcare for eighteen different families and also worked at Waxdale. She also spent eighteen years working for the Racine Public Library and retired on January 20, 2000. Rosemary was a devoted member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church for the past 50 years. In her spare time she loved reading, Chicken Soup for the Soul books, a walk in the outdoors or spending time in her garden. Above all, it was time with her family and friends that gave her the most joy. She will be dearly missed.

Left to celebrate her life are her children, Kevin (Betty) Klokow of Racine, Jerry Klokow of Saipan, Kathy (John) Janish of Racine, Jeffrey Klokow of Winona, IL, Karen Jarosz of Union Grove, Jonathan Klokow of Henderson, NV; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh) Baumstark, Melissa Klokow, Karina (Jason) Dey, BJ and Randy Klokow, Amber, Zachary and Benjamin Jarosz; five great-grandchildren, Logan and Peyton Baumstark, Xanthie Salazar, Owen and Claire Dey; sister, Adeline Anderson of Beaver Dam; Godson, David Horton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was also preceded in death by her son, William Carl; son-in-law, Douglas Stryker; and her brother, Bud Nagler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., Monday December 6, 2010, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev Richard J. Molter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Monday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials in Rosemary Klokow’s name to the Racine Public Library have been suggested by the family.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at the Hospice House for all of their loving and compassionate care.
