LaVerne A. (Boutell) Koleske

LaVerne A. Koleske, age 82, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. LaVerne was born in Racine on November 7, 1928, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Nee: Robey) Boutell.

LaVerne was a graduate of William Horlick High School and attended Center Street College. LaVerne was employed by SC  Johnson for sixteen years, retiring in 1984. LaVerne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, crafts, sewing, shopping and her travels to Europe and throughout the states. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; her children, Karen Marheine of Manitowoc, Daniel (Linda Feranchek) Vassh of Wild Rose, Calvin (Lisa) Vassh of Racine; her eight grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Adam, Caleb, Danny Jr., Michelle, Arielle and Cole; her step-grandchildren, Sarah, Catherine and Richard; four  great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Boutell and Don Boutell, both of Racine; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew E. Vassh; and brothers, Albert, Clarence, Harold, Walter, Russell and Calvin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or one’s favorite charity have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Ranga Sriram, Dr. David Ross, and to nurses and staff at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
