Bernadette B. Becker, age 95, died at her residence at San Camillo in Wauwatosa on Saturday, April 23, 2011. She was born in Racine, June 23, 1915, daughter of the late Henry and Adelaide (Nee: Yanny) Oberst.
Mrs. Becker had a long and active career in Nursing and Allied Health Education. She received her nursing degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and a Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At the time of her retirement she was Dean of Health Occupation at Gateway Technical College. During her tenure she inaugurated and established several health occupation programs including the Associated Degree Nursing Program.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Ellen (Jack) Trimberger of Aurora, IL, and Virginia (Robert) Jacko of West Lafayette, IN, and Miami, FL; three sons, William (Suzanne) Becker of Bloomington, IN, Robert (Faye) Becker of Racine, and Daniel Becker (Joyce Campana) of Milwaukee; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Soens of Wauwatosa. Her husband Bill passed away in 1998.
Relatives and friends may meet with the family in the Chapel of San Camillo, 10200 W. Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa, WI, on Friday, April 29, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
