Gary S. Lema, age 50, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2010, at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Facility in Waukesha, WI. He was born in Racine on July 17, 1960, son of Remi and Kathleen (Nee: Fesko) Lema.
Gary was united in marriage to Tami L. Pfleger on Sweetest Day, October 19, 1996. He was a member of Local Union #118, with his trade as a journeyman pipefitter. Gary was an avid outdoorsman, where his passions led him on the open road riding his Harley, hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed time spent with his faithful canine companions, Buddy a.k.a. Moose, Sassie and Titus. He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Tami; parents, Remi and Kathy Lema; daughter, Amanda (Josh) Ritter; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Bryce Ritter; brother, Remi (Theresa) Lema; sister, Sharilyn Lema-Forbes; mother-in-law, Judy Meyer; father-in-law, Carl (Barb) Pfleger; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Traci Pfleger, Todd Pfleger, Tim (Gayle) Pfleger and Scott Forbes; nieces, nephews, Tom (Tara) Nielsen, Kevin Nielsen, Brian Lema, Ian Forbes (fiancĂ©e, Kelly), Amber (Lane) Forbes-Parker, Kaylyn Forbes, Lacy Lema, Christyne Mehalic, Joshua and Samantha Pfleger; great-nephew, D’Amirion affectionately known as “Boy with strange name;” other relatives and many dear friends. Gary was preceded in death by his faithful canine companion, Meghan.
Private funeral services were held. A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials to the Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds, PO Box 431217, Mil. WI, 53234-1217 (specify Racine Clinic), or the Wisconsin Humane Society, Milwaukee, WI, have been suggested by the family.
