Mary E. Shea, age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha, WI. Mary was born in Laurium, Michigan, on June 17, 1923, daughter of the late James and Mary (Nee: Donahue) Shea.
Mary was a graduate of Dominican College in Racine. She furthered her education, graduating from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac. Mary taught in a number of parochial schools in Racine. Mary was a director of education at Virginia Nursing Home in Waukesha for a number of years. She was last employed as a Registered Nurse at the Sisters of Notre Dame in Elm Grove, WI, until her retirement. Her passion was caring for others. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Maryann Shea of MI; her nephew, Dr. Michael (Julianne) Shea of Ann Arbor, MI; great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Alice Cramer; and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Paul Shea; and by her sister, Margaret Shea Katte.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April, 15, 2011, at Siena Center, 5635 Erie St., at 4:30 p.m. with the Very Rev. Joseph Hornacek officiating. Private interment will be held.
