Sturtevant -- Elroy C. Janota, age 66, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his residence. Elroy was born in Bloomer, WI, on July 11, 1944, son of the late Charles P. and Anna E. (Nee: Prihoda) Janota.
During the Vietnam War Elroy proudly served in the United States Army. On November 9, 1968, he was united in marriage to Beverly V. Gunn. Elroy was employed by Bosch for several years. He enjoyed philosophy studies, writing and fishing. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-two years, Beverly; his children, Tim (Dawn) Janota, Angela (Lance) Peavler; his grandson, Torgor Janota; brothers and sisters, Arthur (Dorothy) Janota, Dale (Michele) Janota, Jolene (Eugene) Kowalski, Larry (Kim) Toufar, Robert Janota, Rollin (Mary) Janota, Shirley Janota, Tom (Kathy) Toufar; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clayton (Rosemary) Gunn, Keith (Joan) Gunn, Rodney (Joanne) Gunn, Dena Gunn, Joe Gunn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Sharon; and Mildred Toufar, who lovingly cared for and was affectionately known as the mother of the entire family.
Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., celebrating Elroy’s existence at Sportsman’s Bar, Chetek, WI.
Existence gives us the gift of five senses that we may experience the fantasy of the physical world. Existence is reality. The physical is not.
