Joanne M. (Adams) Sholly

Joanne M. Sholly, age 70, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. Joanne was born in Racine, July 14, 1940, daughter of the late Emil F. and Catherine L. (Nee: McMahon) Adams.

She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1958.” Joanne was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and was employed with them for thirty years until her retirement in 2005. She was a longtime fan of Elvis and enjoyed Racine’s local John Van Thiel’s impersonation of Elvis. Joanne will forever be remembered for her devotion and love for her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Kevin (Liliana) Sholly of Mt. Pleasant, Kim Sholly (Suzanne Rosenblith) of Greenville, SC, Kurt (Michelle) Sholly of Waterford; her grandchildren, Raul Zbengheci, Dustin Sholly, Kamryn Sholly, Mikayla Sholly, Kolby Sholly, Emilia Sholly, Eli Sholly; lifelong friend, Gale Markus; many close cousins from the Adams and McMahon families; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Kent.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Wester officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m.
