Maxine Grace Gambony, 81, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born January 17, 1930, in Tomah, WI, the daughter of Lewis and Hulda Beardsley.
On April 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Donald Leon Gambony, who preceded her in death on November 9, 2000.
She retired in 1992 from retail sales and was a warm, generous, naturally humorous and down to earth person who made friends easily wherever she went. New acquaintances often remarked what a delight she was to be with. Maxine loved to travel and her favorite activities were Bingo and a lively game of cards. She also enjoyed Arts and Crafts and made beautiful cross stitch needlework. Most of all she was a good friend to many and devoted to her children and their families. She will be greatly missed but always in our hearts and memories.
She is survived by her children, Donna, Michael, Debra (David), Mark (Darlene), Donald Jr. and Kim (Keith); ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven, on July 3, 1978, and Randy, on Sept. 19, 2008.
Most recently she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Geraldine A. Jordan, 81, on April 10, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Hulda Beardsley; sisters, Genevieve Lesky, Margary Bluebough, Virginia Hovorka, Lucille Brown and Lorraine Beardsley; and her brothers, Miles, Robert, Donald and Jasper.
