David Joseph Grosz

Surrounded by his loving family, David J. Grosz, age 71, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 31, 2011, at his residence. David was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 21, 1939, son of the late Ralph J. and Angeline (Nee: Rutzinsky) Grosz.

On April 8, 1961, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Barczynski, with whom he shared fifty beautiful years. David served as a proud Marine, fighting for our country, then fighting the battle of Mesothelioma, sadly losing the war in March. His passions were family, his parish, his country, building for Habitat for Humanity, the Packers and NASCAR. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his four daughters, Adrienne (Roger) Rusch, Barbara Hernandez, Christine Grosz, Denise (Vern) Rosman; his grandchildren, Joseph (Megan) Grosz, Nicole (Michael) Fedele, Joshua Rusch, Jacob Rusch, Samantha Verheyen, Katelyn Kruse, Sheila Kruse, Jens Kruse; step grandchildren, Kayla and Amanda Rosman; his great-grandchildren, Annabella Fedele, Amarianna McCutchen, Angelo Fedele, Margaret Grosz; sisters, Sandra (Edward) Firoella, Karen (Edward) Weink; brother, Gary Grosz; special friends, Kenny and Betty Kulas: special nephew: Michael (Catherine) Grosz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Skeeter (Ralph Jr.) and his sister, Marilyn Meleski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 7 p.m., with Rev. Joseph G. Stobba officiating. Private interment with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Monday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Rita Parish or Habitat for Humanity have been suggested.

He was one of the greatest men I have ever known and one the people that i always looked up to. He will be missed my family has him and the reat of the family in our prayers. I love you Uncle David.
