Josephine M. (Kroes) Polcin

Josephine M. Polcin, age 87, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Ridgewood Care Center.  Josephine was born in Racine on November 13, 1926, daughter of the late George and Josephine T. (Nee: Bergavoert) Kroes.

On September 5, 1953, she was united in marriage to John G. Polcin, who preceded her in death on November 21, 2001. Josephine was a former member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Holy Trinity St. Cecelia Society and the Blue & Gold Society (at Holy Trinity Church). An excellent cook, with a green thumb for plants, Josephine also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her children, John (Mary) Polcin, Patrick (Linda) Polcin, Kristine Grow, Josephine (Kevin) Grow; her grandchildren, Barbara Polcin, John Tony (Heather) Polcin, Judith (Brandon) Ketchum, Michael Polcin, Olivia Polcin, Wendy Polcin, Ronnie Grow, Abby Grow, Jennifer (Scott) Doemel, Jack Grow, Paul Grow, Kevin Grow II, Stacy Grow; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Zerzanek; brothers, Paul Kroes, Theodore (Lori) Kroes; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph; daughter, Valeria; brothers and sister, Hank, George (Rose), Lambert, John (Pat), and Dorie Madala; son-in-law, Ron Grow Sr.; sister-in-law, Louise Kroes; brother-in-law, Rudolph Zerzanek.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey E. Mortenson officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Memorials to Ridgewood Activities Department, American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital have been suggested.
