Dolores Mae 'Dee' (Brown) Domanik

Dolores Mae “Dee” Domanik, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1927, in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late George E. and Mary Mae (nee: Savalio) Brown.

On October 30, 1948, in Chicago, IL, she was united in marriage to Joseph R. Domanik, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2005. They had three children, Robert (Heidi) Domanik, Susan Domanik, Joseph (Martha) Domanik; her five grandchildren, Joseph (Christine) Domanik III, Robert Jr. and Anthony Domanik, Rafie and Joseph Iannello; two great-grandchildren, Callia and Cooper Domanik; her brother, George E. (Janis) Brown; sister, Joanne E. Spataro; lifelong friends, Marie, Sarah and Thomasina; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dolores was a great supporter of the Froedtert Donor Awareness Program, encouraging people to consider donating their organs. Her passions were oil painting, playing the piano, writing children’s books and reading. Dolores and Joseph sponsored many scholarships at St. Catherine’s High School. She devoted and treasured time spent with her family and will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 9:15 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Catherine’s High School, Countryside Humane Society or HOPE Safe House have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the caregivers from Home Instead and the nurses in the ICU at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints.
