Walter H. DePatie, age 73, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Bay Area Medical Center, Marinette, WI. Walter was born in Spaulding, Michigan, on March 16, 1938, son of the late Ferdinand and Adele (Nee: Jamar) DePatie.
On November 4, 1961, at Holy Name Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Judith A. Goebel, who preceded him in death, September 29, 2006.
Walter was employed by Nielson Iron Works for twenty-eight years and later worked at Kenosha Boiler and M & W Shop. He was an active and longtime member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister and helped with bingo and the church festivals. An avid outdoorsman, he loved deer hunting and spending time in upper Michigan. He enjoyed tending to his bountiful vegetable garden. More than anything he cherished time spent with his family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his daughter, Katherine (Mark) Missurelli; his son, James DePatie; three grandchildren, Louis Francis, Maria Frances and Joseph Francis Missurelli; brother, Francis (Rose) DePatie of Wilson, MI; sisters, Rita (Freddie) Peters, Wilma Nelson, all of Hermansville, MI, Theresa Rehn, Barbara DePatie, both of Norway, MI, Adele “Mary Ann” DePatie of New Berlin, WI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy Gabbey, Janet (Tom) Bellaire, Carol Bardwell, Rick (Rose) Goebel; other relatives and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 7 p.m.. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3100 95th St., Sturtevant, with Rev. Paul L. Raczynski officiating, assisted by Deacon Russell Missureli. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 5 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Sebastian’s Church or Food for the Poor, Inc., 6401 Lyons Rd., P.O. Box 979004, Coconut Creek, FL, 33097 have been suggested.
