Inez H. (Rogers) Cikel

Inez H. Cikel, age 88, passed away Friday, October 28, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Inez was born in Red Granite, WI, on July 30, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Tillie (Nee: Maulson) Rogers.

On June 26, 1948, in Racine, Inez was united in marriage to Stephan A. Cikel. They shared sixty-two beautiful years together before Steve passed away on October 12, 2010. Inez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and in her spare time enjoyed sewing. Above all, it was her family that gave her the most joy. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon G. (Steven) Robertson of New Berlin, WI; her grandson, Aaron (Mineko) Sorensen of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Tia Sorensen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome Cikel, Edwin (Maryann) Cikel, Edna Cikel, all of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Arden and Donald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., on Wednesday November 2, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
