Murline (Mauk) Clemente

With her family by her side, Murline Clemente, age 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Sparta, WI. Murline was born in Elton, WI, on September 25, 1927, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (nee: Combs) Mauk.

An excellent singer, Murline performed with a quartet on the radio and many other venues. While performing at a local night club in Waukegan, IL, Murline caught the attention of her future husband, Jasper P. Clemente. They were united in marriage July 30, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa, and shared fifty-seven years together until he preceded her in death, June 22, 2011. During those years they enjoyed many travels to Branson, Missouri, and to the Southwest. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Daniel (Mary) Clemente of Greenfield, WI, Catherine Clemente (fiancé, Mike Robinson) of Tomah, Dana Mikkelson (fiancee, Genevieve Rindfuss) of Deerbrook, WI; her nine grandchildren, Brian Clemente, Rachael Clemente, Joseph (Becki) Lamb, Jessica (Ryan) Shafer, Carrie (Donald) Selusnik, David (Angie) Gramza, Brett (Sayara) Mikkelson, Chely (Ted) Welch, Steffi Mikkelson (fiancé, Eric); nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bart (Carol) Clemente, Pauline Snyder; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.
