Raymond B. Goodsell, age 93, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Raymond was born in Danville, Illinois, on December 12, 1917, son of the late Raymond and Auguste (Nee: Kranich) Goodsell.
On October 2, 1942, Raymond was united in marriage to Janet R. Hood. Raymond was a second generation President of Racine Plating Company, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and was a longtime member of their choir. Raymond was actively involved with numerous community service organizations including: Kiwanis Club, committee member of the Wisconsin Golf Association, American Electroplating and Surface Finishing, National Association of Metal Finishers, Wisconsin Manufacturers Association, Chairman of the American Cancer Society and President of the Racine Country Club. His contributions to both his family and community were many and he will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Janet; his children, R. Scott (Pamela) Goodsell, Gary (Susan) Goodsell, Mary (Michael) Patterson, all of Racine, Nancy (John) Mullen of Austin, TX; his seven grandchildren, Beth Honeycutt, Dana Goodsell, Regan Goodsell, Brooke Patterson, Brian Patterson, Katherine Patterson and Brendon Mullen; his great-grandchild, Austin Honeycutt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy B. Goodsell; and his brothers and sisters, Millard Henry Goodsell, Florence Auguste Goodsell, Beulah Leona Goodsell and Donald Stanley Goodsell.
Private funeral services were held with entombment at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Memorials may be sent to The Benjamin House at 4848 Cty Tk H, Franksville, WI 53126.
