Diane L. (Lupi) Velicer

Surrounded by her family, Diane Lee Velicer, age 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2014, at Hospice Alliance - Racine Hospice House.   She was born in Kenosha, WI, on March 3, 1941, daughter of the late Daniel Lupi and Anne Betko (nee: Michalek). She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1959.”

On February 27, 1960, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Daniel R. Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years, Dan;  her children, Linda (Robert) Ollerman of Ripon, Daniel J. Velicer of Whitefish Bay, and  Laura (James) Dietz of Bristol; seven grandchildren, Sara and Emma Ollerman, Ana, Jack and Mara Velicer, Elizabeth and Charlie Dietz; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois (Al) Shovers; nieces, other relatives and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Reverend William Dieztler officiating.  Private interment will be held.  Relatives and friends may meet at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Catherine’s High School or Hospice Alliance-Racine Hospice House have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane and staff, Dr. Carlynn Crevier and the caregivers at Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.
