Nancy J. (Parsons) Roloff

Our dear wife and mother, Nancy Jean (nee: Parsons) Roloff, passed away on January 18, 2014, from Adeno Carcenoma Stage 4 Lung Cancer [not smoking-related] diagnosed September 4, 2012.

Nancy was born on March 27, 1941, in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee County, WI, a daughter of Walter Earl and Dorothy Ellen (nee: Pionke) Parsons. Nancy was raised in the Milwaukee area until 1944-45 when the family lived in Oakland, CA, while her father was in the Navy. After the war, her family moved to the Fond du Lac area, where Nancy attended school, graduating from Goodrich High School in 1959. She attended Stevens Point College for two years and worked in Madison, Milwaukee and Fond du Lac in the secretarial field.

On May 6, 1966, Nancy married Richard Paul Roloff in Fond du Lac. Prior to and during this time she was an Executive Secretary at Wells Manufacturing and Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. After the birth of their first child, Traci, in April 1974, she retired to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1986, Dick and Nancy started a manufacturing rep business and she was the Secretary/Treasurer at their home office until their partial retirement in 2010. Needless to say, a home office afforded her many hours to indulge in her one great passion, genealogy.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing with her parents, bowling, golfing and traveling (especially to her ancestral homelands of Ireland, England, Scotland, Poland and Germany). The loves of her life were her family, genealogy, wolves, the Packers and St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard of Racine; two children, Traci L. Roloff and partner, Adam Yothers of Boston, MA, and Ryan R. Roloff of Clovis, CA; two grandchildren, Madison Anne Noel Roloff and Marcus James Roloff of Clovis, CA; one brother, Walter E. Parsons, Jr. (Dottie) of Fond du Lac; and two nephews, Derek Parsons of Fond du Lac and Darrin Parsons of North Fond du Lac, WI; one special aunt, Dorothy Bibby of Zephyrhills, FL; and two cousins, Donna Krueger and Diane Krueger Smrsticks of Black River Falls.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Earl Parsons on May 14, 1995, and Dorothy Ellen Parsons on August 24, 2008; grandparents, Floyd DeForest Parsons on November 25, 1973, and Lena Mae Kirsenlohr Parsons on January 29, 1987; and Martin Frank Pionke on November 19, 1960, and Elizabeth Ross Pionke on March 26, 1919; one special uncle, Leonard Bibby of Zephyrhills, FL on December 6, 1997.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday January 21, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., with funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Private interment will take place at Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac. In accordance with Nancy’s wishes and in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary in Ramah, NM, at www.wildspiritwolfsanctuary.org.

Nancy’s family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Antony Ruggeri, Dr. Michael Mullane, the wonderful nurses (angels) at Aurora Oncology and the staff at Wheaton Franciscan Radiation..
