Kermit L. Dahl

Kermit Lars Dahl, age 73, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center.  He was born in Reserve, MT, on December 30, 1940, son of the late Alfred and Carrie (Nee: Ibsen) Dahl.

Kermit proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.  On April 4, 1964, he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Cookson, who preceded him in death on April 3, 2010.  He retired from J.I. Case and was a member of the J.I. Case Twenty Year Club.  He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church.  Kermit was an avid bowler and loved playing cards, especially with his buddies on Tuesdays.  He also enjoyed spending his afternoons at Scores Sports Bar.  He will  be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Kim (Robin) Dahl, Kara (Rich) Shawhan; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cody, and Lauren Shawhan, Robert and Andrew Dahl; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ginny Dahl, Jack (Patty) Cookson, Jeanne French; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.  In addition to his parents and  wife, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Kelly; a sister, Joyce Enselman; and three brothers, Alvin, Pete and Roger.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 6 p.m. with Reverend Allen Bratkowski officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until time of service.  Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.
