Mildred 'Millie' Heiderman

Mildred "Millie" Heiderman, age 102, passed away on Jan. 30, 2014, at Wheaton Franciscan-All-Saints Hospital.  Mildred was born in Racine, WI, on June 21, 1911, daughter of the late Patrick and Emma (Nee:  Hermes) Williams. She was the youngest daughter and last sibling in the family of ten children.

On November 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Emery F. Heiderman at St. Patrick’s Church.  Prior to marriage, Mildred was employed by SC Johnson as a private secretary.   In her younger years she was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers and currently was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.   Millie loved sports.  As a young woman, she was the catcher on an all-female team.  She played golf for many years as well.  And throughout her life she was an avid sports fan, watching professional baseball and football whenever there was a game on TV.   Above all, she was devoted to her faith and family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Marlene (John) Haigh of Chattanooga, TN, Robert E. (Lisa) Heiderman of Fish Creek, WI, Mary (Dean) Trantow of Atlanta, GA; her six grandchildren, Elizabeth (James) Reaves, John Joseph (Lindsay) Haigh, Rachele (Derek) Snaidauf, R. Adam Heiderman, Christopher (Ansley) Trantow, Megan (Aaron) Jones; her four great-grandchildren, Patrick Reaves, Katherine Reaves, Griffin Haigh and Jameson Dean Trantow; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many good friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Emery F. and Mildred Williams Heiderman Scholarship Fund at St. Catherine’s High School Foundation or to St. Paul the Apostle Church have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Sharon Conrad for her devoted care and friendship for our mother and our family.  We’d also like to thank those who were helpful at Harmony Commons.
