Jane Elizabeth (Daubers) Kyriazes

Surrounded by her family, Jane Elizabeth Kyriazes, age 68, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011, at her home. She was born in Racine October 2, 1942, daughter of the late Peter and Ella (Nee: Herman) Daubers.

Jane graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1960” and went on to receive a degree in Education from Carthage College. On August 22, 1964, at Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church she was united in marriage to Ted P. Kyriazes. Jane was employed as a teacher by KUSD retiring in 2007. She had taught first and third grades at Harvey Elementary School for over 40 years. Jane was a member of Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, the Philoptohos Society, the Rotary Inner Wheel, and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed her book club, swimming with her friends, traveling with her husband and her annual trips to Hilton Head with her teacher friends. Above all, it was spending time with her family that she cherished the most, especially time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Ted; son, Peter (Patty) Kyriazes of Pleasant Prairie; daughter, Callie (Brian) Ehmcke of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughters, Lauren and Kristen; and a grandson expected in September; brothers and sister, James (Beverly) Daubers of LA, David (Linda) Daubers of CO, Susan Daubers of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tasso (Frasso) Kyriazes, Panagiota (Paraskevas) Kyriazes, Demetri (Maria) Kyriazes, all of Greece; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, 1335 S. Green Bay Rd., Racine, with Fr. John Ketchum officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. with a Trisagion Prayer at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church or the Unity Masonic Lodge 367 of Kenosha have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bruce Luccas and family, Fr. John Ketchum, and Demetri and Maria Kyriazes for their loving and compassionate care. They would also like to thank all of their dear family and friends who have supported and helped them through this difficult time.
