Susanne 'Sue' J. (Boernke) Pedersen

Susanne “Sue” Boernke Pedersen passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, July 23, 2011, in her new home in Kenosha. She found peace when she was reunited with her beloved husband and soulmate, Fulton.

Susanne was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 13, 1928, to the late Carl and Jessie (Nee: Rodgers) Boernke. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, before coming to Racine and graduating from Washington Park High School in 1946.

On August 5, 1950, she was united in marriage to Fulton T. Pedersen. With her husband, she owned and operated Easterday Office Equipment and Supply Company, Inc. since 1961. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and a former member of the Kenosha Country Club. Golfing was her passion. Sue enjoyed her many outings with her girlfriends and road trips with Fulton and their friends. Their vacation to Singapore and Bali was a highlight. She listened to WGN Radio day and night, avidly followed the Cubs, listening to Ron and Pat even if she watched them on TV.

Susanne was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Barbara (Bill) Marescalco, David (Sally) Pedersen and Jane (Chuck) Pflug. She was a loving grandmother to her five precious grandchildren: Katy Marescalco, Scott and Lori Pedersen, Charlie and Tom Pflug; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fulton, on December 8, 2002; her sister-in-law, Ruth, on May 21, 2011; and her in-laws, Emma and Thorvald Pedersen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 29, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m.  until time of service at 6 p.m.
